Who Moved My Pastor?
Every year about this time, many church members are surprised to learn that their pastor is being appointed to another congregation. United Methodism has a unique system of assigning clergy to churches that dates back to John Wesley, a system very different from any other mainline denomination. InfoServ, the United Methodist information service, has developed this feature to help better understand the pastoral appointment process. http://infoserv.umc.org/faq/pastoralappointments.htm
