TOP STORY: One conference, one book
Church members are encouraged to join in a conference-wide book-reading campaign that will ultimately lead to a conference-wide mission project.
"They Poured Fire On Us From The Sky," the true story of young Sudanese boys in a war-ravaged land, inspired the creation of Holston's Sudan Action Team. The "One Conference, One Book" campaign was promoted at Annual Conference, and a Bible study has been written and provided online.

Somebody answer the phone: Who said that?
"Particularly it's incumbent on churches which should place the highest priority on human connection in an increasingly anonymous society to evaluate how they answer their phones and the image they are presenting to their members and the world."
Alice Smith, newspaper editor for the North and South Georgia Conferences, in a UMNS commentary scolding churches for their telephone and email manners.
