More of those pastors' columns with pizzazz

In the Holston Conference communications office, we read a lot of church newsletters, and we’re impressed when they show creativity. In our Feb. 4 “Wednesday on the Web” exclusive, we listed pastors’ columns with titles showing “pizzazz.”

For example, the Rev. Dennis Loy has his “Dennis’ Door” column in the Unicoi United Methodist Church newsletter each month. At Ft. Oglethorpe UMC, the Rev. Benny Matherly calls his pastor’s message, “Benny Dictions.”

Since then, we’ve heard about a few more:

Nation’s Notion – Don Nation, Mafair UMC, Kingsport District

Foote-notes – Rebecca Foote, St. Elmo UMC, Chattanooga District

Kenny’s Keyboard – Kenneth Tucker, Carpenter’s UMC, Maryville District

Dwight’s Bites – Dwight Kilbourne, Burks UMC, Chattanooga District

Ty’s Two Cents – Ty Harrison, Kodak UMC, Knoxville District

Mark’s Remarks – Mark Clark, Trinity (Greeneville) UMC, Morristown District

A Jot From Joel – Joel Campbell, St. Matthew UMC, Kingsport District

Living With Grace* – Jonathan Jonas, Sulphur Springs UMC, Johnson City District

*Jonas’ daughter is named “Grace.”

If you have an interesting column name or church newsletter idea that you want to share with others, write Annette Bender, editor of “The Call.”
