Music certification: Do you need one?
The United Methodist Church has always placed a high value on education and training in ministry and not just the ordained pastoral ministry. Today the church offers training and certification in music, youth, camping and retreat leadership, business management, and education. The General Board of Discipleship offers a recent discussion on the benefits of a music certification.

Searching for Baptist truth: Who said that?
"The real underlying issue is that fundamentalism in the Southern Baptist form is incompatible with higher education. In fundamentalism, you have all the truths. In education, you're searching for truths."
David Key, director of Baptist studies at Candler School of Theology at Emory. Key was quoted in a recent New York Times article concerning colleges that are severing ties with state Baptist conventions.
