Holston staffers answer most frequently asked questions (FAQs)
No matter where you work, youre likely to hear some questions more than others. In the Holston Conference offices, we get that a lot, too. So we recently asked staff members, What questions do you hear the most?
This week, Anita Henderlight answers two inquiries that frequently come through the childrens ministries office. Look for additional Holston staff FAQs and answers in future editions of Wednesday on the Web.
Q: What is the source for the grant information you send out in Holston Childrens E-News?
A. These grant opportunities come from a variety of sources: the Americas Promise e-newsletter, Abes E-mail Reports, Google, newspapers, periodicals, grant reports, and by word of mouth. There's not one magical place to get it all.
Q. What is Rotation?
A. Rotation refers to a model of education. Rotation Model Sunday School, Workshop Rotation Model (WoRM), Multi-dimensional learning, or simply "Rotation," allows children the opportunity to learn the same Bible story for four to eight weeks. Each week of a "rotation," children experience the same Bible story in a different format, such as drama, cooking, computer, storytelling, video, games, art, science, or music. Kids rotate to a different "workshop" each week. Teachers do not rotate. They stay in one place, preparing one lesson (with some age-appropriate modifications) for the four- to eight-week rotation. Consistency and relationship building can be provided by a team of shepherds who remain with one group of children for an extended period of time.
