Snow Blossoms
from District Roundup

Oak Ridge: Four long-time friends and members of Petros UMC are the subjects of a new book, "Snow Blossoms." Lucy Patrick, Polly Woodward, Imogene Evans and Alice Whitus are pictured on the cover, along with Petros UMC. The title "Snow Blossoms" comes from a name given to snow-clad mountain peaks around Petros. "I later realized that my mother and her three friends were like those snow blossoms: They sparkle, they live at the top of the mountain, and they've blossomed despite the snow in their lives," author June Patrick Gibbs told The Oak Ridger. The book is available through the East Tennessee Historical Society or through Gibbs by e-mail.
