Shirts Off Their Backs
From District Roundup: When leaders at First Maryville UMC invited members to give up old T-shirts for needy people in the Dominican Republic, they had no idea what they were in for. Members donated 1,800 shirts in every size, color and theme (including, of course, a large collection of orange University of Tennessee shirts). The missions team took 700 shirts on their February trip to the Dominican Republic, where they built a parsonage and offered Vacation Bible School to 170 children. The remaining shirts were delivered to Jubilee Project by Pastor Larry Carroll.
