Knoxville: "M.A.D. in the City" is a summer youth ministry at Church Street UMC. For four days, youth "make a difference" by playing and working with the children of Wesley House Community Center. This summer, 40 youth and 70 kids joined in a birdhouse-building project. "We heard the National Audubon Society had put out pleas for birdhouses for the Gulf Coast area," explains communicator Teresa Williams. So when Church Street sent its ninth hurricane-recovery team to D'Iberville, Miss., earlier this month, 40 very special birdhouses were distributed to homes in the area.
