TOP STORY: It's August! Let's go to a camp meeting

Four districts will host old-fashioned camp meetings this month. They are:

Big Stone Gap Camp Meeting — Aug. 6-9, 7 p.m. each evening at Jonesville Camp Meeting Shed. Speaker: Rev. Winston Worrell. Information: E-mail Rev. Wayne Rader or call (423) 341-8639.

Children: We need your prayers of peace

The Sudan Action Team is compiling a prayer book of peace, written by the children of Holston and Africa. The book will be distributed in 2007. Holston children are invited to:

Young adults: Ready to S.O.A.R.?

"Seeking Out a Reality" is Holston's newly created retreat for young adults, scheduled Sept. 29-Oct. 1 at Camp Wesley Woods in Townsend, Tenn. The weekend costs $30 for room, board, and programming. The speaker is Bill Lizor, General Board of Discipleship director of young adult and single adult ministries. Worship will be led by David Leach, director at Wesley Woods.
