Annual Conference Deadlines Announced
THE 2006 SESSION OF THE HOLSTON Annual Conference is scheduled June 11-14 in Lake Junaluska, N.C. Here are deadlines for the annual gathering of clergy and lay members from Holston's 914 churches.
Reports
Deadline is March 15 for all documents to be printed in the "Book of Reports." Reports should be mailed or e-mailed to: Secretary of Annual Conference, P.O. Box 32939, Knoxville, TN 37930-2939, or GradyWinegar@holston.org. Reports not received by the deadline will not be printed in the "Book of Reports" and will require Annual Conference approval to present or distribute, in as much as they did not meet the requirements as set forth in the Standing Rules.
Housing information
An information packet has been mailed to clergy, lay members, and lay members at-large. The Housing Request card must be completed and returned to the reservations office at Lake Junaluska postmarked no later than March 17.
Special meals
Reservations for special meals must be requested by mail or e-mail by March 31 to: Coordinator of Annual Conference, P.O. Box 32939, Knoxville, TN 37930- 2939, or AnneTravis@holston.org. Upon receipt, a form will be mailed requesting the specifics of the meal, including the number of persons involved with each special meal. The deadline for receipt of the reservation form is May 26.
Resolutions
Send resolutions by March 24 to: Committee on Resolutions, Holston Conference, P.O. Box 32939, Knoxville, TN 37930, or by e-mail to SheilaKnowles@holston.org.
Definition of a resolution: A resolution is a statement to effect change in policies, procedures, or practices of the annual conference. A resolution may address an issue that the author(s) deem to be important. Resolutions should contain both rationale and the desired result. A resolution should focus on one issue or desired change. Resolutions must include the name(s) of those submitting the resolution.
Audiovisual requests
All audiovisual requests should be made by March 24. Delivery of completed audiovisual materials is due by May 15. For more information, contact Donna Hankins toll-free at (866) 690-4080 or dhankins@holston.org.
Space for meetings, activities, displays
Reservations for meeting and/or activity space in addition to those that are part of the conference schedule must be requested by May 26. Requests for display space will be considered on a first-come first-served basis until May 26. Requests may be mailed or e-mailed to: Coordinator of Annual Conference, P.O. Box 32939, Knoxville, TN 37930-2939, or AnneTravis@holston.org.
Registration
A completed Registration Card will be mailed with the "Book of Reports." The information on the card should be updated/corrected and the card presented at the Annual Conference registration desk, Harrell Center office, beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 11.
Child care
Child care will be available during all sessions of the Annual Conference without cost.
