What Christology is this?
Thanks to Kathy Gilbert for the article on Bishop Sprague. ["Clergy and laypeople file complaint against Bishop Sprague, Jan. 31 issue] According to the article, "He denies the physical resurrection of Christ's body."
What "Christology" is this? These comments were reported as made at a Methodist-related School of Theology. Shall we dismiss our "Book of Discipline," rewrite both Old and New Testaments, and create a new name for the denomination? All facts certainly need to be presented.

What would Wesley say?
I am shocked and saddened by the number of people who have signed a complaint against Bishop Sprague people who should know the teachings of John Wesley better than they apparently do.
It is obvious to me that there is a great need for people to understand the writings of Wesley. Please publish the article, "The Character of a Methodist." You might also consider publishing his sermon, "Catholic Spirit."
I don't need to have the same opinion (to use Wesley's words) as Bishop Sprague and he doesn't need to have my opinion. Wesley makes it very clear what is needed to be a good Methodist, and it is not signing complaints against opinions.
