Sweet Day in October
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Marguerite Gault (see pdf) shows off a cake for sale at Asbury United Methodist Church's recent fall festival in east Knoxville. The church has sponsored the festival for 12 years, inviting the community to hear Gospel music, dine on barbecue, munch on snow cones and play on the inflatable moonwalk. In previous years, the congregation has used money raised from rummage and food sales for missions and building projects. This year, Asbury raised $14,000 from the Oct. 3-4 festival and plans to use the money for local missions and to repair the church roof.
