We break for fried pies

GALAX, Va.– Taking a break from sanding and painting a new church, participants in the conference's Older Adult Mission Trip snack on fried pies prepared by a local parishioner. Seventeen Holston members representing six churches traveled to Wytheville District Oct. 7-10 to aid in construction of the Door of Heaven United Methodist Church. Scheduled to open in early 2003, the church will house the conference's first Hispanic congregation. Lunches for the volunteers were provided daily by members of Woodlawn, Shiloh, Longview, and Door of Heaven United Methodist churches.
