Oh, You Better Watch Out

Christmas is not as far away as you think. Order Christmas cards now from United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) and support missions all over at the world at the same time. Two sets of cards are available: the "A Child is Born" Series featuring modern "madonnas" and the "Isaiah" series. One set of 12 cards (four designs) and envelopes are available for $10 by calling 1-800-554-8583. Pictures of the cards are online.

All This and a Football Game, Too

Youth, pastors, and youth workers are invited to “Church Youth Day” at Emory & Henry College on Saturday, Sept. 13. The event includes campus tours, lunch, devotions, and an afternoon football game between E&H and Ferrum. Cost is $3 per person for lunch. How to Improve on Sunday School for Kids

Trenton UMC, Chattanooga District, is hosting a Rotation Model Sunday School workshop on Saturday, Oct. 4, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $20 per person or $15 per person with groups of three or more. A partial scholarship from Chattanooga District is available for small churches. Call (706) 657-6170 for more information.

‘Living Faith’ Seminar at Knoxville Church

Church Street UMC invites the public to a “Living Faith” seminar. Five women from Knoxville-area faith communities will address in roundtable and panel settings the experiences, beliefs and events that support and challenge our faith. Panelists include Rabbi Beth Swartz, Rev. Lou Tucker Parsons and Church Street’s own Rev. Jan Buxton-Wade. The seminar happens 2:30-5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14.
