TOP STORY: Is the Secret Visitor coming to your church?

September is Open House Month in the United Methodist Church. And for the sixth consecutive year, The Call will send Clint Cooper, faith editor at the Chattanooga Times Free Press, to visit an unsuspecting congregation to check out their welcoming skills. Is the Secret Visitor coming to your church this Sunday? Look for Cooper's report in a September issue of The Call.

Pass the ammunition: Who said that?

"The Gospel is not about killing people in the name of the Lord, and Jesus made that very clear."

— Miami attorney and "practicing Christian" Jack Thompson, commenting on a new computer game based on the popular "Left Behind" book series. In the game, players have to win over the remaining agnostics and unbelievers of New York City or kill them.
