Showing hospitality to immigrants: A Biblical response
How should the church respond to the challenge of immigration? A three-day conference will address this question and others Feb. 1-3 at Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center in North Carolina.
"Our Call to Hospitality: A Biblical Response to the Challenge of Immigration" is organized by the Southeastern Jurisdiction and the General Board of Church and Society. Keynote addresses will be provided by Bishop Timothy Whitaker of Florida Conference and Bishop Hee-Soo Jung of Northern Illinois Conference, among others.

A $39 donation buys a roll of stamps for Jubilee Project’s ministries with youth, farmers, food product small businesses, and artisan small businesses. "This helps the ministries maintain vital communication with members, parents, customers, and others," says Steve Hodges, executive director.

For ethnic young adults: Summer internship in D.C.
The Ethnic Young Adults Summer Internship program is designed for adults between the ages of 18 and 22, representing the five ethnic caucuses of the United Methodist Church. Applicants must have interest in exploring issues of public policy, social justice advocacy, and social change. Interns will live in Christian community in Washington, D.C. from June 3 to Aug. 4, 2007. Application deadline is Feb. 1.
