TOP STORY: Hiwassee advances in accreditation efforts

Following another year of legal wrangling, Hiwassee College's accreditation remains intact. A federal judge ruled Feb. 6 in favor of Hiwassee in a portion of its lawsuit against the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

“This is a significant moment in our legal efforts,” said the Rev. James Noseworthy, president of Hiwassee. “We have prevailed on one of the several issues of our case. The decision means SACS cannot take steps that would cut off Hiwassee’s financial aid or remove accreditation.”

Coming March 18: One Great Hour of Sharing

Your congregation can join United Methodists worldwide by making a special offering through One Great Hour of Sharing to support the United Methodist Committee on Relief. Gifts to this offering underwrite UMCOR's "costs of doing business." The offering helps the agency keep their promise that 100 percent of every other gift made to a specific UMCOR project can be spent on that project — not on home office costs.
