Something good on TV this week: Mission telethon

“In Mission Together for Christ and the World,” the General Board of Global Ministries’ first telethon, will be broadcast this week (Dec. 6), 6-8 p.m. on the cable station INSP. The telethon was filmed Oct. 12 in Nashville and includes appearances by Shirley Jones, Willie Nelson, and Judy Collins. For more information, click here.

Emory & Henry hosts Open House on Saturday

Prospective students and their families are invited to meet with professors and current students during an Open House at Emory & Henry College on Saturday, Dec. 6. Numbers: Cub Scouts and the UMC

The United Methodist Church supports more Cub Scout dens than any other denomination, according to Newscope. A report on 2003 activities found that there are 218,207 Cub Scouts participating in dens sponsored by the UMC. The second highest supporter, with 196,915 dens: the Roman Catholic Church.
