TOP STORY: Resurrection dances into 20th year

Participants from 10 states gathered Jan. 14-17 in Gatlinburg to mark the 20th year of Resurrection, Holston's winter spiritual event for youth.

While most participants came from Holston congregations, a record-breaking 35 groups from outside the conference joined the crowd in the first weekend of Resurrection 2005. Out-of-conference groups include United Methodists from outside Holston or others outside the denomination.

This weekend (Jan. 21-23), a second group of thousands will convene, bringing the two-weekend total attendance to about 11,500. Resurrection includes preaching, praise music, and talent presentations from each district (see photo).

For a complete report, see the upcoming Jan. 28 edition of The Call.
