TOP STORY: Give your opinion about the 'state of the church'
United Methodists are encouraged to participate in an online survey to help collect information for the denomination's "State of the Church" project. The project is sponsored by the Connectional Table, created by the 2004 United Methodist General Conference the denomination's top legislative body to guide mission and ministries. The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete.

Grant money available for older adult ministries
The United Methodist Committee on Older Adult Ministries has a limited amount of grant money available for older adult ministries. The purpose of the grants is to help local United Methodist congregations, districts, annual conferences, central conferences, and UM chaplains and UM-related institutions develop intentional, innovative, and creative ministries with older adults. Grant applications are due Jan. 17, 2007.

Kevin Dougherty, co-author of a comprehensive survey on the nation's faith, released by Baylor University on Monday. The survey results suggest that Americans aren't losing religion, but defining their spiritual lives differently.
